7 Month Update

Okay, so I am about a week late with this post, but better late than never, right?

The girls turned 7 months on the 23rd. Wait, is that right? SEVEN months?! Wow, this first year is flying by! It really is amazing how quickly time can pass.

The girls are not crawling yet, but they are both very close. Cassidy can get on her hands and knees and scoot back ward, she can even back herself into a sitting position from lying on her tummy. She is amazingly flexible and limber. Candace does an inchworm army crawl combo and can get to wherever she wants anywhere in the room within seconds. This has enabled her to become quite the toy thief. When she sees a toy she wants, usually the one Cassidy is playing with, she can get over to it quickly and snatch it.

Both girls are sitting, although Cassidy is much better at it than Candace. Candace prefers to be down on her tummy where she can be mobile. Neither has shown much interest in standing, but Cassidy loves to bounce in the jumperoo. Lately she has been doing perfect plie’. She looks just like a tiny ballerina!

The girls are enjoying solids. They are eating two meals, breakfast and dinner. They have fruit and oatmeal in the morning and rice cereal and a veggie in the evening. They have tried carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, prunes, and pears, and their favorite is still peas. I keep deliberating whether or not to make my own baby food and ultimately I've decided to buy the organic jarred food. It is very important to me to feed them organic, and it would just be too costly and hard to find all organic fruits and veggies for me to make it myself. We are also still going strong with breastfeeding, only 5 months away from our one year goal!

Candace is breaking her second tooth but no signs of teeth for Cassidy yet. They are consistently taking two naps a day, but nighttime sleep is a mess. I attribute it to being away from home, teething, and illness. I'm not even going to worry about it until we get back home!

Their personalities continue to emerge and evolve. Candace is our little princess. She seems to think that everyone is talking to her, whether you are or not. She is still very social, friendly and flirty. She loves to draw in admirers with her big, beautiful grin. She has also become quite the ham. Every time I pull out the camera she gives a great big smile!

Cassidy is a tad bit more cautious of strangers, but when she smiles she lights up a room. She is louder and goofier than her sister and two of her favorite pastimes are shrieking and blowing raspberries. She is quite expressive and always makes us laugh with her silly faces. Her giggle is contagious and Aidan loves to make her laugh.

Thanks to my sister Jenna for taking the great pics!
